#CorbinStrong

Corbin Jones is 11 years old. A couple months ago, he was diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoma. More recently his diagnosis was updated to Burkitt Lymphoma Stage 3-4.

His Father Landon, and Mother Kari live in a rural West Kansas. The nearest facility to them is Wichita...FOUR HOURS AWAY. They have to go ther for chemo and any emergencies that come up. As of now, they are staying in Wichita to minimize the driving, but that also means they are not able to work. 

The following is a post from Landon's Facebook page where he posts updates for their family and friends:

Day 23 Well like the rest of this Journey today has given us another hurdle to jump. The good thing is those hurdles have stayed at a height we are still able to clear.   

Corbin woke up this morning with a fever. As anyone who has dealt with cancer and chemotherapy in the past know that is a medical emergency. We brought him straight to the ER at Wesley where they administered IV antibiotics and ran blood work. His blood work came back not so good. His white blood cell count came in at a 0.0. That basically means he has no immune system right now. So we have been admitted back into the hospital for at least 48 hours.   

Corbin’s spirits are good as always and that just re-confirms what I said in last nights post. This is just another hurdle we have to jump in this race. We will jump as many as needed to get to the finish line!!!  We knew this was a good possibility from the start and that is why we took the doctor’s advice and remained in Wichita. If we were at home and this happened it would have consisted of an ambulance and helicopter ride to get here. We are thankful that we were right where we needed to be to be ready for this.   Hopefully we won’t be in any longer than a couple of days, but if so we will make the best of it. Thanks to everyone back home for doing what you are all doing. It allows us to remain right here where we need to be.   There will be a lot of rest for Corbin in the next couple of days I’m sure. That will help him to build his body back to the point it will need to be for the next battle. Keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming please. We aren’t taking off our Armor here and still remaining #CorbinStrong!!!!

A Message from Captain Blake Lehning about #CorbinStrong 

I have known Corbin’s dad Landon my whole He grew up two blocks away from me and we would do everything together. He was someone that no matter what I could always count on him to be there. When I heard that his son Corbin was diagnosed with cancer and would be starting Chemo treatments I knew that I needed to do something to help him and his family.  

Since becoming a member of the Buccaholics I have seen the members of this organization make great contributions to several families and charities in need. I knew that this was the best group to help make a difference for Corbin and his family.
